Why Super Chess 16x16

16 × 16 board, 256 squares

Four times the playing area of orthodox chess. Longer games, deeper tactics, more room for piece coordination.

Eleven unique piece types

The orthodox six (King, Queen, Rook, Bishop, Knight, Pawn) plus five super pieces (Prince, Princess, Archbishop, Super Knight, Fortress). The Pawn also comes in a super-pawn variant; any piece can additionally be reprogrammed.

Pick your own colors

Forget black-and-white — chess has been stuck on those two colors for 1500 years and we are done with it. Each player chooses their own piece colors before the match begins: red vs blue, gold vs silver, neon vs noir, your country's flag, your favourite team, whatever fits the mood. Your army looks like your army. And there is no "white-moves-first" rule pinned to a specific color — the side that makes the first move is just a per-game setting, picked when you create the match.

Reprogram every piece

Every piece on your side — King, Queen, Rook, Bishop, Knight, every one — can be reprogrammed by you. Click destination squares to teach a piece new moves. Both players do this independently; your Knight can move differently from theirs. Nothing else like it.
